Dell Notebook – Light, Thin and Extremely Portable

    2010 - 02.08

A Dell notebook may be quite an acquisition for somebody interested in computers and in need of one that is light and thin, therefore extremely portable. Besides the fact that it is very easy to handle and carry around, a Dell notebook can brag about low prices. For instance, the new Dell Mini Inspiron costs less than $500 but the more options you would like it to have on it, the higher gets the price. Moreover, this Dell notebook has a TFT display and its resolution is of 1024×600 pixels. A 1.6 Ghz Intel Atom processor is the engine that powers all the sensitive system inside the computer. Furthermore, with a Dell notebook you eliminate lots of the bothersome cables necessary for photo and data transfers, as this computer comes with a card reader for very easy use. The two operating systems it can function with are OS Windows XP and Ubuntu Linux.

Another Dell notebook that has widely appealed to customers is the artist edition Inspiron 1525. The looks of this series is totally new and therefore more attractive or stimulating as compared to other notebooks. Not only can you choose the color to represent you and go with whatever piece of outfit you want, but also the pattern or drawing that surely says more about who you are. Dell notebook producers have started cooperating with Mike Ming, a Brooklyn artist, who owns two plants the Sea Sky and Bunch o’ Surfers and who has thought of infusing a popular mini laptop with a touch of energy, elegant complexity and psychedelic lines. The original Mike Ming design will not wear off in time preserving the quality inlaid design and colors.

All in all, the purchase of a Dell notebook should involve an analysis of the applications it would serve for. If the mini laptop is merely for your own free time, then the Inspiron line offers all the features you may actually need. The designs in this series are to be more accessible for those who still prefer a version of computer that is portable and handy anywhere they might be. However, these Dell notebook models are not highly performing like the ones in XPS line, but they can be upgraded. As it results from the above lines, the XPS line of Dell notebooks remains professionals’ choice as these can really support the different needs of their users.

Compatible Google Chrome OS Version By Dell

    2010 - 01.18

Google’s Chrome OS, perhaps, is the most awaited thing in 2010. The fact that everything is going to be on cloud and that users will not have to install anything (any tools, softwares etc.) makes Google Chrome an awesome thing. A software that will work both as your operating system and the browser is a must thing to have in your system. Also, it is said that with Google Chrome as your Operating system, it would take only seven seconds to get on to Internet.  Well, that’s definitely too quick!

I did know about all this (the news of Google Chrome OS is everywhere), but was quite amazed to know that Dell has already made available a compatible version for mini 10v netbook users. I found the information on this tech blog – onlygizmos.com. I personally am excited to use the actual Google Chrome OS, but until then Dell version would be a good thing to try out.

Anybody can download this 10v compatible version from the link given on the post – Dell Honours Geeks, Gives Chrome OS to Play With. There is also a link to the instruction set on how to download and use the version. It’s a simple work. Can load the file in a USB and then get on using it.

Dell users are sure having a great time getting to use the Google Chrome OS, a 10v version though. Until the actual Google Chrome OS is released in the market for public usage (and that’s not until 2010), all internet fanatics may use this compatible version by Dell.

But a word of caution: The application has a few issues, so users please be very cautious while downloading and using it. WiFi connectivity can be a problem. Nonetheless, it is worth trying out Dell’s work.
